It really depends on the proportions of the marquise.  I’m not sure what the “preferred” ratio is, but I know that when we picked mine out, we chose one that was a little wider than preferred because I didn’t want to walk around looking like I was carrying a canoe on my finger.  It’s an ideal cut, so the depth of the stone is correct, it’s just the face dimensions that don’t fit the norm.  The one you’ve posted above looks to be not as wide, and slightly taller.  I don’t fit the “1.5 to 2.0 carat” that you’re looking for, but here’s what a 1.27 carat (4mm band) looks like on a size 7.25 finger:

@SuzySchmoozy:  But if I remember correctly, you have a Tiffany setting?  I’m a cathedral (and feel that big if I don’t make it to the gym-LOL)

I got all excited when I saw the title.. But sadly my ring is not that big. lol I have very thin fingers so I went the smaller stone and setting route. I do like the ring you posted. and I agree with the previous posters. definitely make sure it is wide enough..

My ring is a 1.5 center stone marquise with .5 ct diamonds surrounding it in the halo setting. I have a 4 finger and 1.5 is perfect on a small finger in my opinion!! ๐Ÿ™‚
