Go New Zealand! Now if only Australia can get its shit together.
@crookedframe: +1000000000
This is amazing news! Did a little happy dance when my Facebook feed exploded with FUCK YES!
Australia needs to hurry up, it’s embarrassing.
Yeah! Congrats to all that can now marry the one they love legally!
Yay! Hopefully Australia is next! Considering our current PM is an aethiest and the opposition has a lesbian sister I am surprised it is still illegal here :/
Yay for new zealand!
Oh Happy Day…
CONGRATULATIONS New Zealand for seeing the light… and welcome to a better world (here in Canada we began the process with individual Provincial Legislation 10 Years ago… and Federal Legislation / Law came into effect in 2004).
That brings the legally enlightened list to 12…
Argentina – Belgium – Canada – Denmark – Iceland – the Netherlands – Norway – Portugal – Spain – South Africa – Sweden… and NEW ZEALAND.
Now if all the other major countries in the world would only get on side… Australia, UK, France, Germany and the USA… we are talking about YOU GUYS !!
Time to make the world a far better place and get rid of this element of discrimination !!
Was so proud to be a New Zealander when the bill passed last night
SUPER exciting news!! In case anyone missed it, here is the vote. Afterward, the spectators all broke out in a Maori love song in celebration. We already have a statment of marriage equality and a donation to Human Rights Campaign in our program, and I would love to incorporate this song, too!
