MrsCoest3:  As long as you clearly state it is a vow renewal and don’t register for gifts, it is perfectly acceptable to do a vow renewal.

Some people do vow renewals annually and its totally ok. Seeing that you guys never had a ceremony there shouldn’t be an issue..

Me n my dh are on our way to planning our vow renewal life and specially the military got in our way before. Best part about a vow renewal is you can do what you want no rules.

My hubby and I had a formal religious wedding and reception around our third wedding anniversary. We did not advertise that it was a “vow renewal” some bees take that VERY personally…lol but no one cared. my sister threw me a gorgeous shower a few weeks before. Hubby and I both had bachelor/bachelorette parties. Followed by an amazing wedding weekend. It was fantastic and everyone loved it. I’d say just do what you want and enjoy yourselves!

A wedding is the occasion upon which you get married. It can be large and formal or just the two of you at City Hall. You can later have as big a reception as you want, and you can wear a dress in white or any color, but you can’t have a second wedding unless you get divorced.
