It was $70 and we filled out a form, handed it to the Clerk, and then she put all the info in and we got our License. We have a year to get married or it expires.  No blood tests.  Took about 5 minutes, and yes we both had to be there.  We only had to show our licenses if we were under 18, so they didnt’ even check our identities.  We could have been brother and sister or filed under fake names…weird.

In Putnam County Georgia both of us were required to go in and we both had to show our ID. There was no blood test though. It cost us $65 but if you had proof of 6 hours of premarital counseling you got a $15 discount or something like that. It took all of about 15 minutes.

Ours was $64, and took about 10 minutes.  We both had to go and show ID and Social Security card.  Pretty quick and painless.

we paid 60 – we both had to be there to apply but only one of us had to go pick it up

took about 5 minutes – but they messed up my number of high school year. 3 instead of 4. not sure if that will make a difference anywhere in life? good question for you to ask on your new job! does that need to be changed?

I’m pretty sure we both don’t have to go.  Fiance went and picked up the application.  He had to show ID and hold up his right hand to affirm the information he would eventaully provide on the form will be true. I filled out the form, we both sign it and he takes it back eventually, but no sooner than 3 business days.  Cost $80 – CASH ONLY!  It’s written just like that on the license application.  The license is good for 6 months.

@calico61979: interesting! haha yeah it asked for how many years of schooling and it had a box for elementary, highschool, and college and you just had to put the number of years completed. i’m not too worried about it.

Dang in MN it it expensive! $110 last I had heard, we haven’t gotten ours yet.  I do know we have to both have to be present to get it.  It is valid for 6 months from the date you get it.  There is a discount if you do premarriage counselling though.  I am not sure what forms of ID you need, I would have to check on the website again.

We are getting married in BC, Canada. The license is $100 and only one of us has to go in and provide both or our birth certificates. We then have 3 months to use it.

@Sassygrn:  You’re right – it is $110 in MN if you don’t do any pre-marital counseling.  I had no idea it was so much more expensive here than in other states!

We both had to go and we only needed our driver’s licenses and had to fill out a short form (basically stating that we aren’t related).  The process took about 5 minutes.  There is a 5-day waiting period…we applied on Tuesday and received the license in the mail the following Wednesday.

@SophiaPetrillo: Yea I knew it was like that much, I had looked it up when we first got engaged last year, but couldn’t remember if it got raised since then.  I also knew about the 5 day waiting period.  We plan on probably going in the next few weeks. Luckily we have done the premarital counselling!

I think ours will be $80 in Wisconsin… It is a pain because we both have to be there about a month before the wedding (2 extra flights!!) to register for it.
