- Wedding: September 2012
So, yesterday was my wedding day! Don’t look at the 14 day trend leading up to your wedding…They don’t have a CLUE what is going on until the day before! They had been calling for perfect weather all week, until the day before my wedding. Yep, looking at 10-15mm of rain all around the time of my beautiful scenic outdoor wedding!
I tried not to panic. After all, we chose our venue because they had a beautiful indoor option too. But underneith the brave facade I put on, I was crushed. I was anxious, scared, worried about how my fiance was feeling, worried about the itenerary and that we were running behind with hair and make up, and as we were getting our make up done, worried about the pounding rain that was hittint the roof! The only way I was dealing with all these worries was to go mute! Couldn’t talk, only cried spuratically! I was also worried that not one of us thought to bring an umbrella because we had somehow convinced ourselves it wasn’t going to rain…and now our beautiful hair and make up would get ruined on the way to the car.
But you know what? We got there…25mins late! We wore plastic bags on our heads and ran. The world didn’t stop turning! The venue was set up for our indoor ceremony, and it was beautiful. A friend told me that the rain was just God crying tears of happiness for us, and that somehow seemed better than simply being good luck. As I walked down the aisle, I just looked at my handsome fiance standing there, just as nervous as me, waiting. Smiling, and I knew everything would be alright 🙂
I married the man I love, with all my family and friends right there with us. And at the end of the ceremony, the sun came out and we were able to get our beautiful pictures outside after all. The reception, speeches and dancing were just perfect. I loved every minute of it 🙂
I’m so happy right now 🙂 We’re leaving for our honeymoon tomorrow. Really though, don’t stress about the things you can’t control! Everything will fall into place.
