- Wedding: May 2011
Hello Bees! 😀
I just want to thank you all for all your help! Thanks to that, I think, our wedding turned out really well. It took place in my dad’s large backyard, with about 75 guests. My Maid/Matron of Honor was my sister, and the Best Man was my husband’s friend from high school.
We did not have a rain plan, and luckily, it was not a problem. The wedding was an hour before sunset, and the sun would have been in my eyes, but luckily there were clouds covering it, so it was perfect.
We had a lot of help from friends & family. My dad hosted, burned the music onto CDs, and had repairs done around the house, etc. The centerpieces were 18×18 fabric squares that my mom sewed with oil lamps on top. My step mom’s dad did the flowers. My aunt did my hair & make-up. My friend did the map inserts for the invitations & the table numbers. My dad’s co-workers volunteered to help make sure things ran smoothly, light candles & oil lamps, and to cut the cake. My uncle made a photo slideshow.
The only thing I was really unhappy with was the food, but the cake was so delicious that it almost made up for it.
And of course, there was no rapture! Yay! haha.
This was our ceremony script, essentially: http://weddings.about.com/od/yourweddingceremony/a/weddingceremony.htm
We danced to “Lucky” by Jason Mraz & Colbie Caillat. My dad & I danced to “When the Stars Go Blue” cover by Bono (of U2) and Andrea Corr (of The Corrs.) My husband & his mom danced to “Wind Beneath My Wings” by Bette Midler.
