So we still haven’t heard from 50 people and the RSVP deadline was 12 days ago!!! I’m pretty sure at least 80% of those will be a no, but just incase they do show…even though they didn’t have the courtesy to RSVP…I want to make sure there is enough food!
For those of you who had or are having a buffet, are you giving the caterer the exact head count…a little above…a little below?
If you’re post-wedding, did you have enough food?

We are having family and friends help with the food but will be making extra just in case sort of thing. Any we have left will be spilt up I’m guessing.

I strongly advise you to get on the phone (not email or text) and speak to the people who haven’t replied, to get a firm “yes” or “no” out of them. There are always some who are too lazy or disorganised to reply, as well as a few normally polite people who just genuinely forget to reply.

For a buffet, extra is always good . People tend to take 2-3x more than a reg serving size

We gave a little above and got the left overs all sealed up in containers for us for the bbq the next day.
I was actually expecting more to be left over but it was plenty – mainly salads and we had planned for all the food for the bbq anyway so the leftovers were extras.
