    Yes.

    No.

    He/she did mine, but I didn't do his/hers.

I did his/hers but he/she knew better than to do mine!

    Other/Explain.

@brideatbeach: It normally is playful but I guess my uncle was a little too into it, lol. It’s funny because he’s not an aggressive guy at all but somehow managed to really let her have it. I was young at her wedding but I remember being in the bathroom with her as she was pulling chunks of cake out of her nose, lol. She was NOT a happy camper but now they look back on it and laugh.

Prior to our wedding I would have never been cool with the cake smash after seeing what happened with my aunt but in the moment, it just seemed right. As long as you don’t go overboard and try to cover your new DH or DW’s face with a whole chunk of cake, it’ll be fine. The piece that I got him with was maybe 2 or 3 bites big so it couldn’t have done much damage.

I’d also add that I have never ever seen a couple feed each other cake, so that seems really, really weird to me as to why anyone would. But clearly a lot of you have done it so it must be tradition for some people.

LOL–I too threatened with divorce if he smashed cake, while we were cutting the cake, he kept saying “can we smash, can we smash” — all of a sudden I had this feeling come over me that I really wanted to!!! We smashed and it was fabulous =)

No, and I threatened DH’s life if he thought even for a millisecond that it might be “cute” or “funny.”  I spent an arm and a leg on my makeup that day, so essentially WE spent an arm and a leg on my makeup that day, and he did not dare mess that up!

@marylandnurse: That’s exactly how it was for us to. In the heat of the moment it just felt right. No regrets!

We didn’t – even though my grandfather was yelling at my DH and telling him he wasn’t a man if he didn’t smash the cake – bahahaha.

    My reaction to my papa:

@misskoala: Haha that’s cute. I’m glad your DH didn’t give into the pressure if that’s not what you wanted!! ๐Ÿ™‚ lol

We didn’t smash either, but I always thought it was kinda funny when others decided to do it. Except for CaitMarae’s poor aunt! Oh my!

We never got around to do our cake cutting! ๐Ÿ™  The caterer had cut the ones they were serving and everyone already ate cake before we realized it.  We figured it would be a little silly to cut it after everyone was already done, plus it wasn’t a huge deal to us.  We did, however, agree beforehand to no cake smashing.  I didn’t want to get cake on my dress, and I would have lost anyway because DH is so tall.

We definitely did not, despite my husband’s cousin yelling at me to “smash it in his face!” My husband wouldn’t have minded, but I knew he’d do it in return. ๐Ÿ™‚

We didn’t smash cake, but DH DID purposefully dab a little icing on my nose.  It was all in good fun, though I warned him beforehand that if he all-out cake-smashed, I’d be really upset!!!
