I’m sure it depends on the shape of your dress, but my waist was so sore when I took my dress off! It was super fitted and I had basically a perfect red imprint of my sash in my stomach…ouch!

It didn’t hurt my back but was VERY heavy and I had an imprint of the inside belt on by skin (it was a strapless with an inside belt to keep it up).

I wished many times for a fan I could put under my dress to cool me down!

When Darling Husband helped me out of my dress at the end of the night he could not believe how heavy it was! 🙂

Not married yet, but I hope mine won’t be too much (it has straps, so that may help). This made me think of the young traveler brides with their huge dresses. I heard they actually compare/prize the scars they get on their hips from holding up such huge, heavy, extravagant dresses.

OMG yes!  It was horrible.  It didn’t help that I was starting to come down with a cold that day too.  Thankfully I had some ibuprofen in my kit that I made, but I don’t think that mixed too well with drinking and by the end of the night I had a cold, my back hurt, and I felt a little sick to my stomach.  Finally my photographer loosened it up a little during the reception, but the boning and stuff was still so stiff that it still hurt (and I couldn’t loosen it more because it was strapless and would fall off!).  I sometimes wish I had chosen my second place dress because it didn’t have all that structure and would have been so much more comfortable.

Not my back, but I added a thin halter strap for the reception, that thing rubbed the back of my neck raw! It hurt so bad! I also had a little bruise on my rib from the bottom of the boning on one side of my dress. The crazy thing my dress was pretty light weight and the most comfortable one I tried on, I cant imagine how miserable I would have been in a different one!

Nope! But my feet were killing me from the weight of my dress and dancing all night!

My waist and tummy hurt from it having to be so tight.  I could barely eat anything for supper or drink anything during the reception because of it.  I gave a huge sigh of relief after I got it off and just wanted to be naked for the rest of the night!

Yup, my back was killing me, i couldnt wait to get my dress off… we had an issue with the privacy panel moving up, so they safety pinned it in place and i had red marks and the next day bruises on my back where the pins where.

No memorable pains here from the dress!  However, my dress had straps and a fairly slim A-line skirt–no petticoats.  I do remember changing shoes during the reception, though.

Mine sat really well on my hips, so I didn’t have back pain, which was awesome. I was sooo incredibly exhausted after the wedding, though. It doesn’t matter how well weight is distributed, you definitely start to feel it after six or seven hours! I was happy to slide in some sweats at the end of the day.
