Not really. We have followed along with the “traditional gifts”. Also, Darling Husband has gotten me a fake rose every year when we dated, and then on our wedding day he switched to getting me a fake daisy. That’s about it.

I plan on enjoying some champagne every year on our anniversary using our toasting glasses from the wedding. πŸ™‚

We were thinking of what to do with our unity candle instead of just letting it sit there. It’s gorgeous, and we love it, so we decided we are going to light it every anniversary while we have dinner together.

Yes!  We got married at a winery and had lots of the winery’s wine left over from the wedding so we took it all home and decided that on each anniversary we would open a bottle.  We figure that the wine gets better with age that it’s pretty sentimental.

This year I flew it all the way across the country with us just so we would have it with us.  It was really nice.

@littlemisst08:  We do that! Or, at least we did it for our first year, so we’ll probably continue.

@megz06:  I love that idea! Maybe I’ll steal it. πŸ˜‰

We got a free top tier of cake from our bakery for our first anniversary. I think we’re going to buy a small tier of cake from our bakery to enjoy every year on our anniversary. Along the same lines as the toasting flutes, that will give us a chance to use our cake knife and server from our wedding day.

Our second anniversary is this summer, so still time to think of some things to start incorporating into every year. πŸ™‚

Great question! We just celebrated our one year wedding anniversary with a little getaway! A wonderful way to recharge and celebrate the year. I would love to do something sweet like that every year!

Well, we plan to use our champagne flutes from our registry and have the same kind of champagne from our wedding every anniversary. We will probably also celebrate with the traditional date night. We are hoping that for important anniversaries, we can take a nice vacation that we couldn’t afford for our honeymoon.

One fun thing I’ve heard of is to choose a wedding photo of the two of you in a medium or close-up shot, then try to get a photo similarly posed each year. You gradually fill up an album and see how you’ve changed over the years. I think this would work expecially well if the photo shows how you celebrated that anniversary, like taking the photo at the restaurant you go to or with mountains in the background during a vacation.

My husband I met at a cute wine bar. Every year we go back, we sit at the same place, and he wears the same shirt he was wearing that day. We were married his past October, 5 days shy of our three year anniversary. We did our “First Look” there, and expect us to go back every year. πŸ™‚

We go on vacation every October, so we’ll just be planning vacation to go along with our anniversary.
