Saved for 2 years and spent over 60K. Worth every penny! Had a blast! Amazing food, good music, beautiful pictures. Great memories with all our nearest and dearest!

My wedding in 2010 was roughly 40k for everything from engagement ring to honeymoon – and yes, we both regretted spending so much even though we could afford it.

Now theat we are divorced, both my ex-DH and I plan on eloping with our new SO’s.

We didn’t spend an arm and a leg, but I don’t regret a penny of it. It was perfect for us. I thoroughly enjoyed all of my DIY projects which were actually really awesome stress relievers and saved us money!

Our guest list got out of control and now we’re about $3,000 over budget. But our “budget” was already $5k more than I wanted to spend, so it’s about $8k over what I’m comfortable with.

We aren’t married yet, so I can’t comment on regretting it. I assume that I won’t, I figure I’ll just be so happy to finally marry my husband.

We spent about 20k on 95 people.

I regret NOTHING. Amazing party.  Amazing pictures.  We splurged in areas that were well worth it (the food and booze alone were about 10k of that).  The DJ was amazing, our DOC was amazing, flowers were GORGEOUS, food was the best I have ever tasted at a wedding (I know I’m biased, but I also had a LOT of comments on the food!).  I bought a very low budget gown ($250 or so) because I honestly didn’t care about it, and I’m so happy I didn’t buy an expensive dress.

As long as you have the cash, and splurge on what’s important, it’s a great day.

In the grand scheme of things, 20k wouldn’t change our lives so it was worth it.  I would probably not pay much more than 20 for a wedding though.
