After the ceremony, first dance, speeches were over, we went for a walk just the 2 of us. That was my favorite moment. Captured here:

When we walked back down the aisle after the ceremony Darling Husband looked at me and said “wow, there are a lot of people here!”  I started laughing.

we were completely overwhelmed by the fact that everyone came to the ceremony.  We had assumed that most people would just come to the reception even though everything was in the same place.

Our unofficial first dance! Immediately after the ceremony we were whisked away from the guests for a 20 minute reprieve to eat some tasty appetizers.  We were alone in the ballroom, not counting the dj. We sat to eat,  but then the dj started playing  romantic oldies Frank Sinatra’s “the way you look tonight”, so I grabbed my fresh – minted Darling Husband  for a dance. It was so wonderful to have a private first dance,  even though we did a “public one” later on.  It’s our little secret that nobody saw our real first dance.

My favorite was our whole reception. He’s not super social, but the WHOLE night he was on that dance floor and talking with all the guests with the BIGGEST smile on his face. And, of course, yelling WIFE anytime he needed me! =) Such a fun day/night, wish we could do it over and over! (without the planning and money spending though!)

So Bees, when you are angry at your Darling Husband because he leaves the toilet seat up or dirty socks on the floor- remember that special moment.

Thanks for sharing all your special moments. Some of them are making me want to cry happy tears. I can’t wait to have my special moment with my soon to be husband in 100 days!

I have a few but I will try to keep it to two…

first was the morning of the wedding – we chose to spend the night together since it just worked better for us – we exchanged cards that had our “real”/private vows on them and read them to each other just the two of us in bed. It was just the most perfect moment ever laying there with my head on his chest hearing his heart beat while he promised to share his life with me. I will never forget that moment – it was just so private and intimate and so “us” – no fancy dress or done up hair just the two of us snuggled together in an “us against the world” outside our bedroom door moment.

I am so thankful that we didn’t listen to my mother and all her superstition about seeing the bride before the wedding cause honestly that was the best moment of the wedding for me and the one that I will always think back to when I think about getting married.

The second was more cute and awww – when I got to the front of the aisle after my dad “gave me away” we stepped up to the officiant and Darling Husband grabbed me and kissed me and I said “no you can’t do that yet! you have to wait till the end” and he said “I don’t care I am going to do it anyways” and I just totally melted! It was just so sweet and made me feel so good that he just loved me so much and had so much emotion that he didn’t care about the rules and what we were suppose to do…..

I have to admit I didn’t think that the ceremony would be that big of a deal in some ways and I focused so much on the reception and making that perfect but in the end the way I felt looking into his eyes with him stroking my hand to keep me from crying was like nothing I can even explain (to the point I am full on crying typing this)  – I hope that I never forget how that moment felt and how perfect it was

breatheandrelax:  my fav moment was when they exited everyone to prepare the sparkler exit. My fiancé and I stayed upstairs in the ballroom and had a private dance to a song I always sing to him with just the two of us before we left. We were both very emotional , it was beautiful! this was just less than two weeks ago so still waiting for photos/video!

The first look! I was so anxious and excited. I almost started to cry just rehearsing with the photographer, walking up and grabbing her hand as practice. I walked down this long path to him and when I got there we finally saw each other and I knew we’d be spending the rest of the day TOGETHER. Well, forever really. And he looked really happy 🙂 And I was too.

I loved our first look.  I had fun getting ready and then all of a sudden it was time to go see him and I was so NERVOUS!  And our photographer had picked this funny place to do it (on the street across from my hotel, I think he picked it cause of a nice brick wall) and there were people walking by but I didn’t care at all – it was just so amazing to see him! When I put my hand on his chest his heart was beating so hard… He looked amazing… And I could tell he was so nervous and excited to see me, and told me how beautiful I looked… We just there in the street, kissing, and not even caring who was walking by… the whole day was amazing, a blur and yet u remember very moment – just the best day ever.

I loved the limo ride of just the 2 of us going from the ceremony to the reception site. We were so excited, it was the first time just the two of us were alone as a married couple, we had champagne and we were SO EXCITED about the reception. Definitely my favorite memory from the day!

I have two tied for first place in the favorite moment category.

We wrote our own vows and saying them to each other was so meaningful. I’ll never forget the tears in his eyes or the things he said to me as well as how he said them. But what was really great is that after I read mine (I went last), my mother went, “Oh wow!” in such a way I knew what I wrote was meaningful to her, too. She passed away a month and a half after the wedding unexpectedly. So this was one of the last, precious, impactful moments we shared.

At the end of the reception but before the after party Darling Husband and I went back to our suite to change. Before going through the door, he grabbed my hand and pulled me back onto the porch entryway. It was the first real moment alone we’d had all day. I thought he was going to kiss me but instead he put his hands on either side of my face and said, “You are my wife. My WIFE!” He had tears in his eyes as he said it and he threw back his head while shouting it to the heavens. I don’t remember seeing him so elated before or since. It meant so much to me that my becoming his wife was something he treasured. It was like he couldn’t keep his joy to himself. I felt the same way!
