What are some funny tidbits from your wedding day?
One of mine is that I ended up walking down the aisle barefoot! I spent all the time looking for the perfect pretty shoes, wore them for our first look and pre-ceremony pictures and 45 minutes or so before the ceremony began I just couldn’t anymore. They were beginning to hurt and I didn’t like the sound they made and I’m more comfortable without shoes. My shoes come off when I drive, as soon as I walk in my house, basically as much as possible. So I’m not surprised.

I ended up hugging everybody. DJ, photographer, everyone. And I am NOT a hugger by any stretch of the imagination.
Also the catering company packeged up the top of my cake, wrapped it all nicely and my Mom took it home and made sure it went into the fridge that night. I guess no one realized it was styrofoam??

Right before the ceremony the judge called to Albert to let him know we were about to start…and Albert ran into a glass door. Like SMACK! Left an imprint of his face on the glass and busted his eyebrow open. They ended up putting salt and pepper in the wound to get it to stop. If they would’ve come to me, I could’ve given them some skin glue lol. But oh well. He has a busted eyebrow in every photo and I could care less. It was a pretty funny story!

@Natalieh86: Haha, wow! That is a very realistic looking styrofoam cake!
@Hippos: O_O Oh my goodness! Did the guests see him do this?? haha.
Oh, another one would have to be what I refer to as the “trials and tribulations of wearing a bracelet.” That thing got caught on EVERYTHING! My veil multiple times, my hair, my dress, my husband. Lol. I wore it for the “something borrowed” aspect, but I took it off right after the ceremony and gave it to my mom!

My maid of honor ended up walking down the aisle barefoot! My mom forgot her shoes but her dress was floor length & no one knew! lol
When I reached the end of the aisle, where my husband was instead of giving my maid of honor my bouquet I reached it to my mother…… Who was in the crowd of guests… Oh well! lol She felt apart of the day for sure after that! hahaha

We did an anniversary dance instead of bouquet/garter tosses…the last two couples left on the floor were married within a week of each other, so that was funny to watch the DJ try to sort it out.

My nieces (4.5 and almost 2) were the flower girls… The 2 y.o. didn’t really throw any petals… So, when she got to the end, my mom (her grandma) whispered, “Drop some petals”… Needless to say, she stood there throwing handfuls of petals! haha 🙂
Also… Apparently, my cake topper fell off my cake… I didn’t realize it, I was doing pictures at the photo booth… A close friend walked by, shielding the topper with her hand, saying something along the lines of “nothing to look at here… it’s gonna be fine…” etc 🙂 haha… Turns out, when it fell, it broke — It was a figurine I intended to display in our home… And the couple had broken off of the base, at like their ankles haha 🙂 The photographer had already gotten pictures, so that was fine 🙂 My DOC (my MOH’s mom, my mom’s best friend, etc…) took it home and glued it while we were on our honeymoon, and you can’t even tell! 🙂
Our ring bearers (actually, we called them banner boys because they were carrying a sign, not rings) weren’t prepared to walk down the runner (which had thick rows of petals on each edge). They were walking down so carefully, trying not to step on the flowers – so sweet!
See how they’re squeezed together?

@Jenlon: I was in a wedding where the cake topper broke and the “bride” was decapitated! No bueno.

I’d say falling on my ass in front of everyone at the reception. 😀

Oh I just thought of another one . . .
Everyone was seated while we were introduce, we go to sit in our chairs. I go for one chair but see that the hubs is pulling it out so I went to the other one. Everyone laughed. Apparently I’m not used to having my chair pulled out for me!

@Natalieh86: HAHAHA, we’ll it’ll be nice and fresh!

@Mrs. Jaguar: That would do it! haha. What a cute picture though, lol.
@Jenlon: I totally forgot that our flower girl (my baby sister, who was 7 at the time) had a similar moment! She remembered to throw the petals while walking down – as she’d been practicing for months, haha – but she didn’t feel she’d used enough so throughout the ceremony I could see her out of the corner of my eye dropping them still. By the end she was standing in a pile of petals. It made me giggle during our ceremony. Your banner boys are too cute btw!
@peaches13: Oh my goodness! That would have been fun to watch.
@Sweet.Sugar.Rose: No one knew I did either, other than bridal party and whatever family was around when my amazing Maid/Matron of Honor was basically under my dress helping me get them off! hahaha. You can kind of tell in pictures bc my dress touches the floor too much but I really didn’t care! ha. That is actually really sweet about your mom. I bet it was adorable, though your Maid/Matron of Honor was probably confused. Lol.
Oh, DH’s fingers were swollen because he was so hot in his suit, so his ring wouldn’t go on. I had a really hard time and then we had to use lotion to get it off so our photos could take pics of it. Lol.

@Natalieh86: Lol – I guess mine wasn’t so bad then! haha 🙂
@AmeliaBedelia: It was like that for us too – A pile right at the end of the aisle haha 🙂 And aren’t they!?!? They’re parents are good friends of ours… They were stationed in England for a time, then moved to our town when they came back to the States. The little boys still have their accents! SO cute!

I wore my shoes for my ceremony, but those suckers came RIGHT OFF after. I actually kicked them off halfway out of the ceremony location (up some stairs). and Darling Husband and I ran to the reception area.

As part of our ceremony we included a wine box. What I didn’t think about was the time it would take to seal the box. While hubby and I were closing up the box, my 4 year old nephew asked us if we were going to kiss. 🙂 🙂 I told him ‘I certainly hope so!’
