I am not married yet but I am DEF planning on getting our thank yous out within the month of our wedding date.
We attended a wedding in June 2012, no thank you card.
We attended a wedding in October 2012, no thank you card.
I am personally not too upset about it but I know my mom is pretty ticked off that she has not got a thank you from the October wedding. That wedding was my cousins and she had a very small ceremony 1 week before the reception. Extended family and friends were only invited to the reception (no dinner, just dancing… it started at 8pm) and a lot of family was upset about that too.
I know my dad and my uncle didn’t attend the reception because they felt that if they were not important enough to attend the actual wedding then they were not going to waste their time with some dancing.
I do think it’s rude to wait longer than 3 months (without good reason)… I mean come on.

I had a small wedding (less than 50 people), so I was able to send my Thank You cards out within a couple of days after the wedding, before we left for our honeymoon.

Ummmm… I was very young when we got married, and I sent thank you’s for the shower, but I did not send them for the wedding… I meant to, but we had a lot of stuff happen, and honestly, 3 months in I thought we were going to get a divorce. Anyway, 6 months after the wedding, I basically said “screw it,” and didn’t think about it.
Come to think about it, no one in our circle ever sent thank you’s. But most everyone I know got married at 21/22, and we probably just forgot. If I had to do it all over again, I would send the cards out ASAP!

Mine will be out by the time we get home from our honeymoon. It isn’t that hard and is super important to our families. I figure it is a good plane ride activity!
