our photog took about 2 1/2 months, but being a wedding photography myself, i couldn’t blame her! i know what it’s like to get busy. i think the key thing here is the lack of communication, not so much the timeline. it’s okay to check in via email and phone. don’t get frustrated just yet as that never helps things along. just keep checking in and i always blame it on my mom (sorry mom!). “hey [photog], i was just checking in to see if you had an idea of when the photos would be ready. my mom (or MIL) is so excited to see the photos and she actually ran across one of the photos you took at our wedding on xyz.com. Would love to know when we can expect a blog, dvd, gallery, etc. Thanks!”

Sugar gets you a long way, especially, if you casually drop in the fact that one of the photos is out there somewhere! Good luck!

@mrsmdphd:Wow!! Did you contact her about it? That is kind of messed up that she used it without your permission, or even telling you!

Update to my situation: My photog said 6-7 weeks and as of this past Sat that was the 7 week mark. So today I emailed him and asked for a timeline update. Apparently the pix are done, he’s just waiting to get them back from the lab. He says I should have them by the end of this week..

Glad to hear they are so close, but still annoyed I had to follow up. All I need is a quick email saying the timeline is pushed back. Obviously the pictures are the biggest part of the wedding, so I’m literally sitting around waiting for them!

That sucks that she put a photo on her website that you haven’t even seen yet! I’d contact her and say just that… but nicely of course since she still has your photos! *lol* Although, unless there was something special in your contract, she likely retains the copyright for the photo and can use it to advertise her services, it’s still not a cool thing to do! She should have at least sent it as a sneak peek to you!

I forget how long our photog took, but it was two weeks longer than he originally told us, and I emailed him about 4 times before he gave me a set time frame after he was late. Was there a delivery time frame in your contract?

    Good luck getting your photos!

My photographer is a really good friend, so I think she may have turned them around quicker then usual, as ours took a month.

We’re super lucky and our photog had all our initial proofs plus a album up on FaceBook by Wed after the wedding – so 5 days?! Kind of rediculous!

Still waiting on our proof book, but the online photos satisfied us till that arrives. 🙂

Bees that got your photos so fast (like under 1 month) – did your photog do heavy post processing? Or were they unedited photos? Just curious.

Just came on here to look this up!  It’s been 2 months for us, nothing yet.  But this is very reassuring 🙂

It took 2 months for our photographer to get us our photo dvd.  She did alot of processing on Photoshop which I loved.  Although, I noticed the couple who had their wedding a week after ours got theirs in 2 weeks :/.

I got married July 9th and am meeting with our photographers tomorrow to pick up the pictures!  So, a couple days shy of two months.

I got access to an online gallery within a month, but with one thing and another, we JUST recieved our physical pictures from our December 09 wedding.  Part of that is our fault (it took forever to narrow down our choices) but part of it was that the albums we wanted were out of stock and we had to wait for them to come in to our photog’s supplier!

We had our entire set of photos available online slightly less than a month after the wedding. We don’t yet, however, have our DVD of watermark-free high-res files, though our photographers have promised we’ll have it soon. I think they’re just being picky about the presentation at this point (cover image etc).
