I have 0 regrets about not doing something they suggested but I do have regrets about doing things I was pressured into doing for the wedding.

No regrets! I did what I wanted with the money we had and it was just what I wanted.

Nope!  Luckily I did not receive too much unsolicited advice, but we did what we wanted to do and it was a great day!

My mom did not want us to go to Savannah to get married and suggested we get married in Michigan.  I am soooo happy we did not give into her.  I love her…don’t get me wrong. But our wedding was perfect. No regrets at all.  Although, I do know she’s still harboring a grudge about it.

There are things that I wish had gone smoother or differently, but I don’t have any regrets related to not taking someone’s advice.

Nope, I much more regret listening to certain people (“Oh, just invite them, they’ll never come!” Suck it, mother, we were out an extra $1K because of that!)

no regrets here!  Every now and then I’ll look at pictures and think, oh, I wish the uplighting was more vibrant, or, maybe I should have had my hair a little more this way….and then I kind of laugh out loud.  NOOOOONE and I mean NOOOONE cared then, or now, if my uplighting was darker or lighter. lol.  In the end, what happens, happens and if you spend all your time after the wedding thinking about how it could have been different, it’s almost a slap in the face to the friends and family (and your husband) who spent time, money and energy being there on the day…however it turned out.

I understand you asking the question though, before my wedding, I loved reading posts about “regrets” or “what I should have done”.  There’s nothing wrong with planning ahead and being as prepared as possbile.  One thing I will say, I have a lot of friends getting married this year and it’s interesting when we go out and hear them say what they want and I catch myself thinking, ” oh, should I have done that?” —It’s so easy to get caught up in what other people deem worthy.  In the end, it’s all about what you and your fiance want!  If you keep that mindset, there should be no regrets =)

I’ve actually had regrets of my own, not from other suggestions.  Do whatever makes you happy so you dont feel bad about it when its all over.
