Do your guests know it’s there?

I know that was part of the problem with my shower– I refused to write the info in the invitations (I’m old fashioned); but then I had the problem that the word of mouth wasn’t spreading fast enough.  Once word got around it worked great though.

I think that the Amazon registry is a bit confusing for non-techy people. We registered using Amazon (as well as BB&B and Crate&Barrel) and for our shower, the only person who bought off our Amazon registry was a friend of mine. Meanwhile, over 75% of our other two registries were bought out. I’m hoping that more people will use the Amazon registry as our wedding day approaches.

Also, I think it’s pretty awesome that you can universally register even for things that can’t be purchased online. We registered for an Ikea bedspread, but the person would have to go to Ikea to buy it. I kinda doubt we’ll get it, but I love the universal registry in theory!

We used the amazon registry and ended up getting everything on it (we only registered for a few thigns), most people gave us cards or something from our Target registry. I think it is a little hard to find (I never could find a link on amazon’s website myself). But, the two people that did get us gifts there actually sent them back to us and just told us about them. We didn’t put either registry on the wedding invites, just passed the info on when people asked.
