We will be having a baby! I guess that counts as a homemade gift! Normally we just stay in, drink wine, and eat chocolate. Darling Husband will buy flowers from the grocery store.

mrshomemaker:  No, it’s not biggie for us. Definitely no gifts and we might go out to dinner, but never ON Valentine’s Day. Too crowded and overpriced. We also give each other cards.

mrshomemaker:  No, we don’t really celebrate it. Valentine’s Day just seems like a “holiday” for kids/teens at school. We give each other a card, but that’s about it. Kind of seems silly to us to have one day to celebrate our love when we do that every day. 🙂

We made a reservation at a fancy restaurant. We exchanged gifts and cards. I usually bought chocolate for us to share. Yum.

howdoyoudo:  Hm? I’m not sure I understand the question. Walking Dead’s new season starts up again on Valentine’s Day in the US. So Fiance knows thats all I want and a box of chocolate strawberries lol. He doesn’t celebrate the holiday either typically so it’s not a major deal for us.

mrshomemaker:  We do a nice dinner at home together (like steak and crab or lobster) and he gets me flowers and usually something very small. I got him a cologne one year.

Were not big Valentines Day people.

We exchange gifts for sure. I have a rule that we always exchange for Christmas, Valentines Day and birthdays. Just means a lot to us. Usually we hit our favorite restaurant, but it’s usually 2 hours to actually get out of it there. Instead it’ll be staying home with pizza and movies. Maybe some Mario Kart also.

We will probably exchange cards, and Darling Husband will get me flowers. But Darling Husband has gotten me flowers almost every week since we’ve been together (2 years lol). We might do dinner or just takeout.

There were a couple years when we went out for a fancy dinner (and we stayed in a hotel one of those times) but since then we usually just make something fun for dinner at home. I think last year was homemade Chinese food. We give each other a card too. This year, we’re actually getting married in Mexico two days after Valentine’s Day. We will already be in MX on V-Day so we’ll be lounging by the beach and drinking ALL THE DRINKS. And trying not to get awkward tan lines before the big day.

This is the second Valentines we’re spending in downtown San Diego, but dunno if its going to be an annual thing.. We just enjoy staying in Gaslamp where our flat is walking distance to the harbor, restaurants, dance clubs, etc.

Just excited to spend our first vday as a married couple!

He always makes me a nice meal (or we go out, but not on Valentine’s Day, too crowded and expensive), and we exchange cards and relatively small gifts (fun tshirts, inexpensive jewelry, chocolate).

This year for our nice meal I requested a picnic!

mrshomemaker:  That’s a nice bag.  My Darling Husband asked me for a gift card from a store he likes to shop at.  He asked for it in Dec for our 1 year anniversary and for Christmas and for his birthday (New Year Day baby).  So I am hoping to get him a nice big gift card LOL.

This year we’re trying to be frugal (besides upgrading my ring this year for our first wedding anniversary) and pay off my student loans in full so we will be having a low key Valentine’s Day! Which is fine by me. My hubby told me the plans- home cooked meal and then the Melting Pot for dessert. 🙂
