Very last minute. We got a few when invitations went out but most of them arrived the week before the wedding and many more arrived while we were on our honeymoon.

Did you have a bridal shower? I’m assuming “no” since you’ve had no activity. Everyone else I know with bridal showers had a ton of fulfilled(s) way early in the game.

We didn’t and we are now a couple weeks out now from our wedding date. We started getting activity and things started showing up as being fulfilled around the three week mark. Don’t lose hope! 🙂

Oh and is your registry linked from a wedding website or is it just word of mouth? I think that has alot to do with it too. We included a link to the wedding website with our invitations so guests found the registry info from there.

@scadadle15:  That’s a good point. Ours is linked from the website and we’ve alerted all of our family members to spread the word if asked. We’ve also had a few people dig up on their own (e.g. colleagues that weren’t invited but wanted to be nice!) and a few people ask us to our faces (so awkward!).

OP: I’m also assuming you have items in all price points? We have everything from $6 – $500 on our registry and the items that have been purchased definitely span the gamut.

We were asking our family to check the online registries to make sure they were working. We did a honeymoon registry, and every single thing on that was bought before anything on the traditional registries. We really thought that they were broken or something!

But then, one thing at a time, they started being bought, starting about 3 or so weeks before the wedding. Our Sur la Table registry has been the more popular (the other is a composite registry, which we thought was cool because it let us add items from any online store, but it’s been a little complicated for guests to use).  And the wedding was almost 2 weeks ago, and things are still slowly getting bought, by people who couldn’t attend the wedding.

    Hang in there. It’ll happen.

I’m not married but I worked for 2 1/2 years in the Bridal department of Bed, Bath, and Beyond.  I can tell you that about 85% of your guests won’t make a registry purchase until the day of or maybe the day before.  We built our scheduling around how many weddings we had registries for in our area because we also offered free gift packaging.  Don’t fret!

There’s also people who may look at the registry, print it off, and not tell anyone at the store that they’re buying from a registry.

Just relax and have fun . . and no more peeking! Wink

@Zephi:  Ugh, seriously? There were people that didn’t tell anyone at the store it’s a registry purchase? I remember first working in retail ages ago that we were trained to look for giant piles of computer paper because then you knew they were registry people. I had no idea that people still have problems with that nowadays.

@lilbluebird:  Oh yeah, especially with the majority of people now using a smartphone to browse.  We caught a woman shoving the printed registry into her purse when she saw any associate because she didn’t want to deal with us and thought we would push her into things.  It always drove me nuts because I was then the one dealing with the bride returning the 15 extra towels that were bought because no one used the registry.  Then there’s people who will also buy the same item at another store.

My only nightmare registry was one were everything was purchased by the mother of the bride, she even made us write it on the registry (against company policy but an exception was made because it was worth something ridiculous).  The crazy part was that the mother was there for pretty much the whole registering process . . .

I’m 3 months out and about a quarter of our guests have already purchased gifts from our registry.
