$2500 more than expected.  Totally did not see that coming, but people are still saying how much fun they had.  I should hope so.

Less. We had about 90 guests, open bar during cocktail hour and free beer (3 or 4 kinds) and free wine during the evening. I think it ended up between 2-2.5k.

amyeb25:  Bar tab was less than I expected, but right where our wedding coordinator suggested it would be.

I actually checked in with the bar tender at some point and asked how much it was– pure curiosity.  The trend was this:  most drinks were ordered within the first 2/2.5 hours, and then it slowed CONSIDERABLY.

We had about 100 people, had completely open bar including top shelf for the first 1.5 hours, then hosted all wine and beer for the rest of the evening (til midnight– with happy hour starting at 5:15)  It also included non-alcoholic beverages- per item– which cost almost as much as a beer.

The total was $2300, and this includes my husband and I buying a few rounds of Grey Goose shots 2x LOL 🙂

amyeb25:  Way more. I got married at a night club which is commonly where 21-25 year olds go to black out. My wedding guests made the bartenders worried they would run out of alcohol. That says a lot about our friends.

What was interesting is that it was the sodas and ice teas, not the alcohol, that really put us over the top. People had their liquor– including some for the first time in 20 years– but people ordered way more soft drinks than we expected!

Less. Way less, actually. I don’t remember the actual figures, but I remember my dad being pretty damn happy when he went up to the place to make final payments and pick everything up the day after the wedding.
