I did not weat a bolero.  I spent hours and hours worrying about it prior to the wedding but in the end chose not to as I think it makes you look too “trussed”.  I was wearing a chapel length train for the ceremony and was glad in the end on my decision.  I did however make a long beaded wrap that I put on when I removed the veil for dancing and loosely tied it at the back.  That was to make me feel “less” exposed.  Now in hindsight I would have not bothered with that either.  Photo below is me with my daughter during the evening reception with the chiffon wrap.

Take some pictures with your dress with one and without and you will see for yourself.

I wore a bolero because I knew I would be uncomfortable showing my arms. I don’t have any regrets about wearing it.

I hope it’s not inappropriate to show a pic of myself at my first wedding  about 6 years ago (have divorced since and am now with the true love of my life planning a wedding together).  But back then I was about 200lbs (5’6″) and self consicious about everything…including arms…but I showed them!! I was, however, aware of them all night. I never considered a wrap or bolero though.

I am too hot natured for anything on my arms… I am hoping in the next year to accept my body just the way it is now.

I took e-pics today with a sleeveless dress and I am hoping I dont hate my arms.

I wore a short sleeved bolero and was STILL paranoid about my arms. I still hate how they look in some pictures, but for the majority of the time? I didn’t even think about it.
