(Closed) Married in Uniform?

Most our wedding party was Military, my side and his. I was prior Navy and he still is. No uniforms though. I am in a wedding in January where the Groomsmen will be in uniform. Navy and Army.

He saw it from two different viewpoints: 1.) He should be proud of his service, and thus he should don the dress uniform for the wedding. That it’s not just a job, but it’s part of his identity. Plus, it would be cheaper than renting a tux. 2.) He wanted to be completely free of the Navy bullshit for his wedding day. As

He felt both ways, if that makes sense, and he did a lot of waffling about it.

He ultimately decided on the latter, but that day never came because we just ended up eloping–so who knows? Had we gone through with the planned wedding, he may have changed his mind back to wanting to wear his dress uniform (would be blues for a winter wedding).

When we eloped, he was in his digies. He got out of work later than anticipated, didn’t have time to change, met me in his sweat-drenched digies and said, “Well, I’m getting married in a uniform.” We’re so classy.

@Hyperventilate:  this. My husband refused to wear anything Navy for our wedding. He didnt even want navy blue as a color! LOL

I love seeing men in uniform get married. It’s so romantic to me. My SO is now out of the military but I really want him to wear his dress blues for our wedding anyway lol

im having my fiance who is a Marine wear his blues. his groomsmen are civilians and will be wearing dark navy vestsvwith red shirts. he really didnt have a problem with wearing his uniform. upon hearing the color schrme he complained a little that it sounded too “boot” in his opinion but it is too late to changr now
