I don’t mean after the wedding, I mean during the reception. Did you and your new husband mingle with guests and spend the evening at each other’s side? Or did you each do your own thing, each hanging with your family and friends? Maybe this is a stupid question, but I was a at a wedding last night and suprised that the bride and groom were almost never together unless they had to do something (cut cake, first dance). Is this normal?

We were mostly off on our own because it’s harder to spend time with people together.

We were together almost the entire time. We did table visits during dinner together, and a lot of our friends are now mutual friends so most of the people at our wedding knew each other. There were a few times where he would do something with his guys and I’d dance with my girls, but we spent a good 95% of the reception right around each other.

I’m sure it’s all up to personality. If the bride and groom have invited people to the wedding that they haven’t seen in forever, I’d totally understand if they split up for a while to catch up with their respective friends and family members. However I think it does sound kind of weird to be separate the whole night.
In our case, we were practically hand in hand the whole night! People even commented that he followed me everywhere like a puppy. <3 What can I say, he’s my sweetie.
