    We celebrate and give gifts

We celebrate but do not give gifts

We don't celebrate but give gifts

We don't celebrate or give gifts

We dance on rainbows while riding unicorns :)

I’m not even sure when our dating anniversary is. I think it’s sometime in spring. So, no, we won’t be celebrating it and wouldn’t if we knew it. Just not our thing.

We met in person just five months prior to becoming engaged (we connected online about two and a half months prior to that, however) and were married 11 months later, so we never celebrated the anniversary of our first date.

@Glasgowbound:  Okay so we will be celbrating a few things lol 🙂

Our date anniversary(because we have always done it and I like celebrating the years together)

Our wedding anniversary (we had a civil ceremony)

Our sybolic ceremony (which we were smart and put on the same day as our civil ceremony, same month and day but different year)

@Glasgowbound:  Our 5 year daating anniversary was yesterday and we celebrated with a bottle of wine and wathcing our fave hockey team on tv. Nothing too fancy, but we do acknowledge it.

I voted that we celebrate. Really, we just use it as an excuse to go eat out. Nowhere fancy. We may go for steak this year, just cuz we like the steakhouse down the road, but it’s not really a special place. Next year will be 10 years dating…I get the feeling we’ll mark it by ordering both drinks *and* dessert. Hahaha.

We continue to consider our dating anniversary as our main anniversary since we feel it odd to suddenly stop acknowledging all the time we were together before we formalized our commitment through marriage. (Although the wedding date is significant, we were already very serious about our relationship before our wedding.)

We’ve never given anniversary presents, but we try to do something nice together. So far we’re doing nice things on both anniversaries, but we’ll likely do something extra special for this dating anniversary since it’ll mark a decade of us being together 🙂

@Glasgowbound:  I doubt we’ll be celebrating our dating anniversary anymore. I think it would take away from our wedding anniversary, which we of course consider more significant than our dating anniversary.

It’s an excuse for us to go out to dinner, so I think we will continue to celebrate it. Nothing extravagant, just our favorite mom and pop Italian place probably. Bring our own wine, and the entrees are reasonably priced, so even with dessert, tax, and tip I think we will get out under $30. No gifts, though.

We acknowledge it and may make a nice meal or something.  But our dating anniversary is really close to V day so we do not give gifts but kinda roll it into our V day celebration.

We celebrated our last dating anniversary this past July.  We are so glad to let it go since it’s in the middle of the summer and it’s unbearably hot to do anything during that time of year.  We chose a November wedding date so we could enjoy great weather every year for our anniversary.

This year we went on a nice dinner date.  We may or may not have done small gifts (I can’t remember! lol).

@Glasgowbound:  We do, but my husband is a romantic sap. I can’t even tell you how many anniversaries he acknowledges. However, I get a nice homemade dinner out of it so why not 😛

No, but I also do not celebrate my wedding one, and I did not really celebrate the dating one when we were dating.

We’re not married yet, but plan to celebrate our dating anniversary when we are (: We’ll only give gifts on our married anniversary though.
