@oldmatron:  My cousin and his wife were married for 7 or 8 before having kids.  They got married right out of college and waited until 30 on purpose.

My parents were married for 10 years before that had me. They married very young, and struggled with infertility for 5 years.

Darling Husband and I have only been married for a little over 2.5 years but have been together almost 12. We started TTC over a year ago at 25 and 27 and it turns out we will need IVF to get pregnant. I’m hoping we’ll be able to get some viable sperm from Darling Husband and I will still have some eggs left so that we can get pregnant in the next year or so, putting us at 13 or 14 years together by the time we have our first.

We’ll probably have been together about 10 years before we have kids, just not married that long. We’ve been together for 8 years already (began dating when I was 22, he was 28). We’re now 30 and 36, and don’t plan to have kids for at least another year.
