We did a picture frame and everyone signed it! it was a HIT and we can display it on our wall for everyone to see instead of in a book that wouldn’t been seen as much. heres a pic of it before everyone had gotten a chance to sign it but it still has some on there!

and its hanging on our wall 🙂

@MrsN23:  That is such a great alternative!  My FSIL did that and she LOVES it!  I read the notes every time I’m at their house

Well, we did a photo book from our E-pics with the intent that people write us a note or something and we had plenty of space for it but ended up with a list of names… and like 8 blank pages. We should have left a note or something.

Ours was a fill-in-the-blank advice book (a page for each person/couple) and it turned out awesome.  🙂

We’re doing the photo booth/use the photo strips as part of the guest book.  I’m really excited about it

I ordered a puzzle from Etsy and I haven’t looked at it other than this photo of it because I can tell that it went all wrong.

I had my girls setup the puzzle and I forgot to tell them to leave the pieces that had our initials and date out and as you can see in the picture.. someone wrote on them and there is also a large blank space right beneath that so… I really am not sure how I’m doing to display it because it’s seeming like it’s one hot mess…

I actually had just about thrown the wedding guest book out the window, when my sister came up with a great idea.

We had this:

My sister flipped it over, wrote guests on it and left out some paint pens for people to sign after dinner started at the reception. It was well received!

My sister had a family friend draw a tree with no leaves and everyone put their fingerprint on it in different green stamp inks and signed their name next to it. It turned out SO cute (waiting on pro pics). It really looks like a piece of art. You can buy blank trees on Etsy as well.

The bridal party, bride and groom put their fingerprints on it before the ceremony, so guests could follow the lead. We also had baby wipes for guests to clean their fingers. She got the idea from a bride who did a fall wedding and had the fingerprints in reds/oranges/yellows, which also looked really pretty.

We also did the signing of the matte for a framed photo “guest book” and I absolutely love the way it turned out. We purchased a piece of UV protective glass to protect the signatures and my DH hung it in our living room.

I absolutely love that I can stop for a moment and re-read the various messages at any time versus having something stored away or put away on a shelf.

@September29:  Thanks! Our wedding was very DIY and we actually made it ourselves. I made and painted on the stencils, my BIL drew the design on, and my sister painted it in! It was time consuming, but even more worth it after it became the guest book.

we had a jar with some paper for people to write notes on and we’ll open the jar on our first anniversary … obviously we haven’t read them yet but we have a full jar so it looks like it worked 🙂
