Wow that sounds REALLY REALLY hard!  I wouldn’t feel too badly and at least it only took one hour.

Yeah, I wouldn’t feel bad at all. I KNOW I couldn’t pull that off; that looks freaking hard! lol

I guess that’s why they pay Martha the big bucks… If it makes you feel better I couldn’t do it either. I’m incapabale of doing anything crafty.

For what it’s worth, I didn’t ooze crayon everywhere but for the life of me I can’t seem to get anything but blotches in my wax paper. Sad is me!

Wow that sounds like a PITA! I have an idea though, if you wanted to try again. My mom used to run a daycare and so she’d do a lot of crafty stuff… one of our favorites was always making crayon art like that. Here is what we’d do:

1) take a griddle and heat it to medium

2) place a piece of wax with the waxy side UP on the griddle

3) peel a crayon and draw on the wax paper! the heat melts the crayons and lets it all pool together and be pretty.

I think maybe if you did that? and the let it cool and cut the shapes? I dunno if it’ll work… but it is super easy (easy enough that 8 year olds could do it!) and it just might work.

I have found that whenever I’ve done any Martha Stewart projects (food or craft), they have turned out disasters.  And, I’m not a terrible cook and am a fairly capable DIYer.  I’m not sure her projects are actually tested.

I’m honestly thinking of buying vellum and cutting it into hearts to get the same effect. I think these damn crayon hearts are just somehow beyond me!
