Proud of my state!  How we are allowed to vote on civil rights I don’t really understand, but I’m doing my best to get people to vote even if they’re not psyched about anything else.  Which is of course what Republicans want, because it gets Republicans to come out and vote even if the Republican candidate for president is subpar, but I’m trying to get people to vote for this to stick.

I have friends who are a lesbian couple living in Maryland. It prompted her to propose to her girlfriend, but I’ll be so heartbroken for them if it just gets overturned so soon after. I mean they can marry here in Iowa, their homestate, but if it’s not recognied in the place they live, I don’t think they will bother. Which is sad, its something they have wanted for so long.

Yay Maryland, you can join us Washingtonians in the cool kid’s club now! 🙂

We’ll probably have to vote on ours too, but it’s progress and I’ll take it.

Here’s to hoping they get to finalize their membership in the marriage equality club!
