I’m doing my own make-up for our wedding and I LOVE mascara, which is making it difficult to choose what kind to use that day. I want my eyes to stand out with thick, long lashes. I’m currently using Benefit’s They’re Real. It’s nice, but I feel like I can do better. Any recs for amazing mascaras? Should I try using a few different kinds together? Thanks In Advance.

My all time, hands down, die hard favorite is actually a drug store cheapie! Loreal Voluminous is my favorite mascara to end all mascaras 🙂 I do makeup on the side and am a self professed makeup aficionado, so I’ve tried everything – MAC, Dior, Estee Lauder, Clinique, BeneFit, you name it. Nothing can touch Voluminous! I wore it on top of individual lashes for my wedding day and it lasted the entire day and night without rubbing off or flaking. I sound like a commercial, but I’ve turned a lot of friends on to it 🙂 Try it out – it’ll only cost you like $6-7!

@ellebeerob: Awesome! I’ve used the voluminous million lashes (and liked it), but I haven’t tried the original formula.

@Britt_RN: I went without and instead had individual false lashes put on. It meant that I could cry as much as I liked (and rub my eyes a little) without messing up my eye make-up.

I got eyelash extensions put on and they looked amazing. I wore mascara only on my bottom lashes and that was L’Oreal Voluminous Waterproof.

Dior Show. I went to Sephora to pick this up and they talked me into Benefit’s They’re Real. I like it well enough. I went back a week later, got Dior Show, and it’s AMAZING.

@Britt_RN: I just have to recommend YSL Faux Cils to you. It comes ina gorgeous gold metal tube and it’s awesome for giving the false lash effect.

I’m OBSESSED with Urban Decay’s “Big Fatty.” You must try it. It will cost around the same as They’re Real from Benefit. I love the way i can build and build on it and it doesnt clump and you still get volume not just length. I love it!

@Britt_RN: Clump Crusher by Cover Girl blows my “they’re real” out of the water. It’s my new favorite!
