- Wedding: September 2012
If you haven’t booked your event planner or your caterer, I would NOT recommend Mass Appeal. I booked the Audubon Center for our Sept 2012 ceremony/reception, and sometime this winter, Mass Appeal was contracted to manage their rentals and events. Poor choice by the Audubon unfortunately. It has been very painful to get questions answered by the staff at Mass Appeal. They wanted to change our contract, change which vendors we were allowed to use. I put my foot down from the beginning and refused to agree to terms not in my original contract (so of course, I think they think I’m bridezilla now).
I sent an email in January with some pretty simple questions, waited for a response. Followed up 2 months later, waited for a response. Followed up a week later, waited for a response. Called, found out the girl I was emailing, Sarah, (who was “in charge” of the new Audubon contract) was in Turkey or somewhere equally far away. I was told that she should have been responding to her emails, though. Well, she wasn’t. So someone else, Ashley, met with me and told me that Sarah was far too busy and to just come directly to her with any further questions.
So, I did that 9 days ago. Somehow, a rehearsal never came up when booking, and I hadn’t thought of it until now, so I need to figure out when I can do it, so I can plan my rehearsal dinner, figure out when my family needs to travel down here, etc. After not hearing from her for 8 days, I followed up, and this was the response I got:
“Sarah was going to follow up with you about your questions… has she had a chance to respond yet? Please be patient, we are in the midst of our busy season, obviously, and we will respond just as soon as we can!”
Excuse me? Obviously? Was it really necessary to throw that in there? Well, my wedding is 3 months away, so I’m also busy, OBVIOUSLY, but unfortunately, I can’t make some decisions until I hear from you. You’re an event planning company, this is what you’re getting paid to do. I think that waiting 8 days was being pretty patient, now I need answers.
