I’m recently engaged and I’m excited about that, but my hope to convince my sweetie to elope have been dashed. I just want to marry him in a pretty dress with a bunch of flowers. However he wants a wedding- so I’m planning a small one with just immediate family and friends. I had put some money aside for our future wedding, but I’ve had to use much of it for home repairs and bills here and there, and now I can no longer pay for the whole thing myself. The thought of spending all my savings and more is giving me a headache. A huge, massive tension headache. I’ve looked at the total cost for a few venues and I know I can put this together really elegantly and fairly cheaply, but I’m just totally stressed. I can’t pick which place to go with and I’m overwhelmed.

don’t stress. list everything out in front of you as far as financials goes. then make a list of pros/cons so to speak about each venue…..this will help you make a decision. there are so many affordable and lovely places out there.
try parks and nice restaurants. there’s a bee on here that i turn to ALL THE TIME for inspiration bc her wedding was so sweet and still so beautifully done. look for bees like this to give you inspiration and your creative/decision making juices will start to flow…..
also, set a budget and stick to it. we wanted to pay for everything ourselves, so we budgeted it out…. then we shared this with our parents, and to our surprise, the parents have offered to help out here and there with things. once they saw how planned out we were, they wanted to help with the things they could.
