I suppose it’s ironic that I posted today about being concerned about layoffs.  I was laid off around 5PM and have 4 weeks severance.  It’s upsetting, though certainly not unexpected.  We can live off my FI’s income and I technically have enough in "rainy day" savings to cover the wedding if I had too, though I’d prefer to hang onto that for a worst case scenario situation of neither of us having jobs.

We’re supposed to sign the contract with our reception/ceremony location Friday – for a March wedding – with a $500 deposit that is nonrefundable.  I still want to go ahead and do this – but am I crazy?  I certainly don’t want to do anything I regret.  We’re planning a wedding that will cost less than 10K (unless i were to go crazy with an expensive band, which I posted about before and am definitely not going to do now!).  Would love any suggestions the bees have.
