I really stupidly took antibiotics on an empty stomach this morning. I KNOW this is dumb but I didn’t really think about it and the label didn’t say anything to remind me. Well, now I have the most ridiculously bad stomachache in the world. I’m at work so I can’t go grab anything. Just wondering if anyone has a recommendation. I ate a granola bar. Should I eat anything more? Should I drink a bunch of water? If anyone has any ideas for relief I would LOVE to hear them! Thanks!

@MademoiselleL: personally i’d drink a ton of water but in no way is that professional advice!

I’d call the pharmacy and see what they recommend you do. Some antibiotics have really strict guidelines about how you should take them.

@blondeeebuckeye: agree. Also, I think generally the rule for upset stomaches is BRAT (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast). But I’m not sure about that, so pharmacy is probably the best bet.

Um, well I’m far from an expert, but maybe some of the morning sickness remedies I’ve been trying will work for you. Which are, eat a complex carb and protein together. That may fill ya up a bit more than a granola bar. And ginger ale (with real ginger). I’m sure your stomach ache will pass soon. I bet you’ll never do that again! Ugh, it’s the worst.

@plantains: If I was at home I would definitely take a ginger gravol! Love that stuff.
@jennifer_espos: I have definitely learned my lessson.
The directions on the bottle just said to take it with plenty of water and to not take dairy within an hour. Some of my coworkers have also suggested toast…I’ll try that! Thanks for all the advice 🙂
