Sounds great!  I like things that are unique as well.  If you’re not sure about a black band for you, maybe you can get a band that has black in it but is not totally black and/or you can pair it with a more traditional ering to make it a bit more “girly”. Or, another way to carry on the black theme is to pick a band with black diamonds in a traditional metal setting.

I’m not a fan of the black bands, but I appreciate wanting something unique. If you guys love the style, go for it!

Another unique idea: I came across Mokume, a style that imitates wood grain on metal, and thought it was really cool and pretty special. Here’s a link if you’re interested in checking it out (there are several examples there).

    One example:

@Sunshine73: Who said you bands must match? you can get a band that has some black in it like the ones on @2ndtime‘s pictures (so beautiful). As long as it’s something you both like it’ll be perfect.

@lumos:I saw something similar but instead of wood it was the spouse’s fingerprint, amazing job.

@Coffee cup: I agree!  Our rings don’t match at all but it doesn’t mean we aren’t married!

I’m not sure what those rings are but if they are carbon fiber be careful, my husband has an inlet in his ring and it was damaged soon after he got it.

We purchased matching black Tungsten bands.  I am primarily going to wear mine for going to the gym, doing housework, etc.  I also have a gold band I plan on wearing everyday.  FI works with his hands, so Tungsten made the most sense for him

I think his is 9mm, mine is 4mm.

I’m a big fan of the black ring look.. one of my favorite bands right now is a combo of black and white diamonds. It gives it a fun little pop!

For a man, I think the solid black band looks awesome.  If you’re unsure if you like the look, one the rings @2ndtime posted would be a nice way to still coordinate.  I love the eternity ring she posted that’s just black diamonds (2nd pic 2nd row).  It’s a modern, unique look.
