@linnylou_88:  Do you have a ring you’re looking for?  Or is this just a general question?

Well, personally mine “goes” but isn’t a “match.” My e-ring is custom, so we decided to go with a custom band, since there wasn’t a set. We worked with the jeweler who made my ring to design it, and I can’t wait for it to come in.

ETA: I personally LOVE the mismatched look you pictured above.

@linnylou_88:  ETA: wow totally misinterpreted your question!!

My set is technically mismatched (the matching band that goes with my ring is a shared prong band) and I love it. I do think there is such a thing as too matchy-matchy and I tend to prefer sets that compliment each other but do not actually “match” if that makes sense. If you like the look, go with it! I personally love that combination!!

I don’t like matched sets that are completely the same. I prefer ones that don’t match but still go together Laughing

mismatch to who, is this ering/wedding band or my wedding band/his wedding band?

husband and i are not getting matching bands.  i tried on a mismatch but was told not to mix metals.  i got a great deal on a band that matched my ering.  here is the mismatch, i like it.

@linnylou_88:  My look will be almost the same thing! eep! I love to see it on your finger – I haven’t seen mine on in months!!!

I have a three stone though – but the aesthetic is similar. It looks awesome!

@linnylou_88:  as you can see by the poll, it is completely up to personal opinion. i’m on the fence! i really like the look of mismatched bands, actually, and think it makes the fact that you’re married stand out. BUT, i am a traditionalist when it comes to my own set, and am a bit OCD, so mine match.

Mine isn’t matched as far as where my husband bought both the engagement ring and the wedding band and presented both to me. He bought the engagement ring, and later I picked out a wedding band that I liked. At first I worred because they weren’t very matchy, but now I like them the way they are!

i like rings that match.  they don’t have to be a set but i do like to see some similarity between the two bands.

that’s the nice thing with a classic solitaire.  it will go with almost anything.

Mine match more than I like. They aren’t a perfect set, but the diamonds line up on my ering and wedding band. I’m going to add diamonds to my wedding band and make it an eternity ring. And I have my eye on an infinity symbol/twisted diamond eternity ring I’d like to add to my set.

I like the e-ring and band to compliment each other without being matchy/matchy.  Laughing
