@ bowlingallie1989   Honestly – I don’t think it matters too much. Ours didn’t match and it wasn’t even a factor in our minds that they didn’t.

No one is going to be like “lol their invites don’t match what peasants”.

Ours matched but it just so happened that the design I liked was part of a matching suite. I still would have picked the invitations and just selected a different STD.

Doesn’t matter. Ours didn’t match and I couldn’t tell you if any I received from friends/family matched either.

They don’t need to match.  It’s not something that’s expected because 1. They’re usually received six or so months apart and 2. stds usually are a more casual announcement. Definately don’t stress on it.

I am so sorry, but my mind went total left field with this title! Hahaha.

@ bowlingallie1989   I went for a full matching suite because I like things to be coordinated and what I picked was so so beautiful I just had to have it lol – BUT I know most people don’t match and to be honest, no one cares.

Ours didn’t match because we bought STDs online and then made our invites with a kit from Michael’s.

I don’t think the theme/colors even really matched.

We have a STD and invite on our fridge now for a wedding in June and I couldn’t tell you if they matched even though I see them everyday.

If you find ones you like that match, great! If not, I wouldn’t worry about it.

I did the same thing at first, desparately trying to figure out how I’d match everything. My STDs have gone out and invites are yet to be ordered, but they definitely aren’t going to match.

That being said, I did try to stick with the theme and “feel” of the wedding for the STDs. Some of the templates were so pretty, adorable, etc., but they didn’t fit with the vibe of the wedding and what I’m looking for in the invites so I moved on.

I tried for matching but couldn’t find something I liked. So Unmatching it is. Bothers me but not the end of the world.

We did ours through minted and picked matching. However, if you don’t find two that match that you like, you can always custom (we did) with color changes etc so they look similar or at least have the same feel. Of course, likely no one but you will notice- but I totally get it. 🙂 congratulations!

They definitely don’t need to match.  Look how many people do a photo postcard style Save the Date, using a pic from their engagement session…

We chose to do complimentary but not matching.  As in, they had the same sort of general style, but different designs and layout.  They were both Art Nouveau, but with different colors and a different design motif, but there was also a clear connection between them.
