I have two tattoos and I would be open to getting ‘matching’ tattoo like a quote or something but not his name. SO isn’t into tattoos so wouldn’t be doing this anyway aha. I love my man but wouldn’t get  his (or any) name,  I think it’s a little tacky (I don’t mean to offend, it’s just my person opinion)

We don’t have a matching tat but I did tell him that if he ever died (morbid I know) or we made it to 60 still together I was going to get his initial done in the style of J.R.R. Tolkien’s  initials (Big J with smaller R’s to each side).

We might get similar tattoos someday (both Lord of the Rings or lyrics from the same band or something) but I don’t know if I’d want to get the same exact tattoo.

I never thought I would get a tattoo, now we are thinking about getting our names on our ring fingers when we get married!

We both plan on getting a segment of the darwin tree of life tattooed on us at some point soon πŸ™‚ We didn’t want something too obviously a ‘couple tattoo’, but we are both firm believers in evolution and Darling Husband is a biology major so it makes sense.

I’m of the belief that the only names that you should tattoo on yourself are your children’s or maybe your parents’

@Mrs_Pacman:  FH is a tattoo artist, so he has tattooed me several times but nothing to represent him. However, the night before our wedding, I’m having one of his coworkers tattoo “i do” under my ring. And on our honeymoon we are getting tattooed together. I’m getting a locket with the words Dance with Me Forever around it (lyrics from our first dance) and he’s getting a key.

@FEDORAble:  Omg, you would be my best friend! Haha, I’m not getting matching tattoos with my Fiance for the moment anyway, but am totally getting a Tolkien/LOTR tattoo in the future. πŸ˜€

@Elrodien:  My boyfriend has a grim reaper on the one shoulder (to represent the fact that life is fleeting etc). He was thinking about getting Gaia (the Earth goddess) on his other shoulder to represent his love for nature. But suggested getting a tat of an Ent. He loved it! He is getting it when we finally gets enough money.

@FEDORAble:  So cool!! I’m either going to get ‘Tolkien’ in Sindarin, or a quote in Sindarin or Quenya.

My SO is obsessed with firebirds from Russian mythology, and he’s passed that obsession/interest on to me.  So I’ve plans for a tattoo of a firebird on my shoulder (sort of a firebird/peacock hybrid since Russian art often shows firebirds looking like red peacocks) which refers to him, and is also about me, too.  It’s something I love, and it reminds me of him, and it’s about claiming my own body as something beautiful, even if just as canvas, which he is all about.  Complicated, but meaningful!

We’ve talked about both getting an arrow on the side of our rib cage (ouch! I know). I’m up for it, but he’s back and forth- more back, then forth. Arrows have always been a big thing for us.

We got matching tattoos (symbol that we both loved, because we both loved it) but then I eventually added to mine and now it’s different from his. I don’t think I would ever get an SO’s name (maybe a child’s name, though.)

I wouldnt get his name, but we have talked about getting Doctor Who tattoos. FH doesn’t have any tattoos and I have 8, so he’s a little more hesitant than I am about it. We shall see though πŸ™‚
