I am personally not a fan of matching tattoos. However, I like the idea of a tattooed symbol like you described better than tattooed names.

I have no problems with getting a tattoo that symbolizes our relationship. So pretty much what the OP is doing :). No names though, that is specifically for blood relatives >.<

When you’re 60 years old, are you still going to be ok with a zombie reference on your body? I personally wouldn’t be, but to each their own.

Personally not a big fan of matching tats.  Even if it is a symbol.  As a PP said when your older are you really okay with a zombie reference?

@Gingersnap: I think it’s a cute idea (ok, I’m not calling zombies ‘cute,’ rather the symbolism it has for you two). I’m not about names or photos of people (especially those you marry, kids maaay be different but you never know if Jill will want to become Jack, it happens) so I really like the symbol idea.

@PinkPinstripes: I’d always thought that too, since my mom would always ask how I’ll feel about my tattoo when I’m in the nursing home and someone’s bathing me…but I realized that if I’m that old and that naked, I think all of the drooping that’s going on will bother me more than what my tattoo now looks like ๐Ÿ™‚ So I’ve switched teams on that one.

Personally not a fan. Not that anyone wants to think about divorce but unfortunately its a reality and so many people have tattoos that they later regret and have to get removed. I mean your idea is ok cuz its not a name but still if something were to happen you probably would wish you hadn’t done it.

I think it’s cute, esp because it’s not the tacky “Jack Loves Jill” or just his name on you. I have wanted a bold cursive D on me for my Fiance’s name and I want him to get a cursive R. Who knows if this will happen though.

A family member of mine who is unable to make the wedding included a note on her rsvp that as a gift she’d do matching tattoo’s for us for free (she is a tattoo artist). She was totally joking, but Fiance and I said “maybe not matching, but something together”, I have two already, Fiance has none….I don’t know what we’d get!

I don’t have one, but he has our last name tattooed from shoulder to shoulder in Old English.  He has said something about getting my name, but I prefer this, I think. Mine would have to be little though, tattoos aren’t my fav thing in the world.  I do not currently have any at all.

I think matching tattoos is fine, if they’re meaningful to both of you. But be warned, matching tattoos can almost be the same as name tattoos. If you get divorced (hope not) then you see that “28” and it will remind you of your ex forever, even though it’s not his name. Just saying ๐Ÿ™‚

I wanted to get matching tattoos, but SO hates them.

Also: love can fade, but zombies are forever.
