I overheard a couple ladies in a bridal salon where I was trying on dresses, hunting for the perfect bridesmaids dresses to go with the bride’s gown…Okay, panic attack by moi. I never even gave it a thought. Does it matter? Will I ruin the “look” of my wedding if I don’t? And what constitutes matching? Fabric? Length? Colour? Shape? Please help me!

Some people think that’s important..but I think as long as the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses fit the theme/style of the wedding, then it doesn’t really matter

The only time it would be an issue would be if the bride’s dress was very formal and the bridesmaids were totally casual, or vice versa. They don’t have to “match” in any other way.

Its not important. It just so happened that my Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses worked perfectly with my dress. Strapless A-line with a bow sash. I loved it but it was not something I went searching for. I just happened to love the dress!

I think the dresses should match in formality but other then that I think anything is fine.

I agree about formality matching, or if you’re having a theme wedding, but otherwise I wouldn’t worry. My BMs have their dresses ordered and I haven’t picked my own dress yet, lol.

Whew, okay. We are having a woodland themed wedding, but nothing at the ceremony, other than the trees, will be woodland-ish.
I really wanted green Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, but I hate all the greens I have seen so far, so I think we will go with plum.
