My FH and I are thinking about something like these rings. They’re simple but definitely unique! They’re from RomasBanaitis on Etsy.

Bands with each other’s fingerprints on it?

We settled on very similar styles that aren’t exactly the same. Each of us has very different tastes so this worked out the best. We had them made together from the same metal because we too really loved the idea of matching bands. His actually has way more detail than mine.

I originally wanted matching rings but realized its also just nice to have a few shared details. My wedding band is rose gold. His is tungsten but with a rose gold inlay on the inside.

ahimas:  Same here. Our common element is rose gold. The rest of my e-ring (we aren’t doing wedding bands) is white gold, and his is damascus steel.

Where I’m from it’s very common to have matching wedding bands. Most people just settle for a very simple design, but some have little diamonds added for the wife’s band. You can always opt for a nice spacer or something like this in addition to your band…

Thankfully Fiance and I have always been on the same page when it comes to wedding bands. I like simple designs better, though, so that helps, too.

We both got 4mm platinum bands, half domed shape. Except mine has scattered flush diamonds 🙂 don’t be weary of a thick band! skinny is en vouge now, but thick is classic and will surely be back in style soon enough. I love mine.

MrsBuesleBee:  gorgeous!!

i would have loved a matching band to go with my fi’s comfort fit platinum band. problem was no matter how hard I tried the plain band wouldn’t sit nicely with my funny shape e-ring so we went for something to go with that – in the process though we noticed that many on the online diamond sellers had the same band style/shapes/metal available for men and women just different widths. so you can definitely get a matching pair and their prices were good.

I like the the fingerprint idea too. Ours have engraving on the inside. Maybe if you end up with different bands you could get the same engraving if you want to tie them with some similarity that way?
