I got a lot of stuff at Target. Also, I hated maternity pants and thankfully wore my regular jeans for the first 6 months. I wore a lot of leggings and yoga pants which are inexpensive and did the rubberband trick(loop it through your button hole of your jeans).

Congrats!Laughing

I did shopping at JC Penny, Target and Motherhood.  The bulk of my stuff came from Motherhood because I loved their under the stomach pants.  I hated the pants that pulled up over my stomach.

Have you looked for any second hand maternity stores? There are a few around where I live and they’re actually really nice! They only take good brands and clothes that are in great shape, which is pretty easy to have b/c people aren’t wearing them that long.

I ordered some stuff online from Old Navy (they have lots of sales/coupon codes) and liked everything I got.  I also have gotten a few things at Target and Motherhood Maternity.  At 21 weeks, I’m sort of in between looking crazy in non-maternity shirts and looking crazy in maternity shirts.  I’ve bought a few transition tops with empire waists at Kohl’s (a little larger than normal).  I’m anxious to hear if anyone else has good ideas.  Also, any ideas on where to get a “dressier” dress (for a wedding)?

@candicemcc: A Pea In the Pod has some dressier dresses. There is this green and white one I love, but they are more expensive than the other stores mentioned. They are also owned by the same company as Motherhood Maternity. I’ll most likely end up shopping at Motherhood because they have an outlet by me, but I don’t need maternity cloths yet.

Right now Motherhood has some cute dresses.

I just bought this one for a fall wedding which I’ll pair with a cardi.

I almost went with the same dress in a black and white floral pattern, which also came in navy and white, but wanted something a tad more casual so i can wear it to work as well.

The nice thing about those dresses are that they looked great on even though I don’t have a bump yet. I wasn’t sure with it being a slightly stiffer fabric than like a knit jersey, that it would lay right since I don’t have a bump yet. But it wil definitely grow with me. The sash hides some eleastic in back and they are so comfy.

The target stores near me don’t carry much in the store, but they did have a few things. Old Navy near me doesn’t carry maternity either in the stores, but I like their prices for clothes I don’t be wearing for very long.

When I was pregnant, I wore alot of clothes from motherhood and Pea in the Pod.  Looked for coupons too.

Pea n the Pod does make cute preg dresses and had to buy a maternity formal from them for a formal awards ceremony.

Doesn’t  Liz Lange make the pregnancy clothes still for Target?  I’d go with some of that now if possible for the price.

For me though, I bought some regular clothes in a size or two or three larger for the second trimester and only wore real maternity clothes (except for maternity jeans which I needed at beginning of 2nd trimester when my belly popped in front) the last one.

I could get by with alot of non maternity clothes, until that belly pop happened.  That is fun when it does happen, but it’s great to have clothes ready for when it goes down!
