Hi, I’m 23 weeks and I’m looking for maternity jean suggestions. I bought two pairs from the Gap. One was a skinny leg and the other was a jegging. The skinny leg jeans were too baggy in the legs and the jeggings are perfect except I constantly get blue on my hands because the wash is so dark. So I ordered the same pair of jeggings in a lighter color and they are so much smaller than the first pair. They’re actually smaller than my non maternity jeans from the Gap! It’s so annoying that clothing sizing runs so differently even at the same store. All of the jeans I’ve bought so far have been a size 0 which is my pre-pregnancy size.
So, I’m looking for suggestions. Where else can I look for maternity jeans without spending a ton of money? I love paige jeans and I know so of the designers have maternity jeans, but I can’t bring myself to bring that much money especially since I’m more than halfay there. Please help!

How often would you wear the jeans? A few times a week? Do you plan to have more kids? And don’t forget to favor in the month or more after delivery where we all probably still will be in maternity wear for at least some of the time. Personally I would invest in a pair that are great and make you feel good-looking nothing worse than feeling bloated, huge , and not comfortable in your own clothes. Consignment and thrift stores may be nice options as well.
I bought a pair of under the bump jeans and full panel from Motherhood Materniry- I hated the under the bump ones but the full panel are skinny jeans and fit pretty decently now. At first they were baggy in the inseam but as I’ve gotten bigger (23+3 weeks today as well!) they have fit well. I am a size 4 pre pregnancy and the small are fine- they may even have x small. Good luck!

Motherhood maternity is where I got mine – they were a little big at first but I grew into them lol

I bought mine from Old Navy and have been very happy with them. They are the skinny rockstar jeans with a full panel and I think I got them for something like $25 each on sale. They look like regular skinny jeans and have held up well and I honestly wasn’t willing to spend much more in maternity jeans.

Personally I’d return the gap jeans and splurge on a nice pair. I bought a pair of AG jeggings on sale for like $100 when I was pregnant and they were the only pair I needed. I think it’s worth the extra money to look and feel good while you’re growing a person.

LGenz : I kept the darker wash jeans and it’s probably too late to return now since I’ve worn them a few times and washed them. It’s no big deal, because I think I paid like $30 because they were on sale. I’m going to head over to Destination Maternity today and hopefully find a nicer pair.

Motherhood Maternity is where I have exclisuvey shopped this pregnancy! The price is right, and they look/fit great. I have been living mostly im maternity leggings, but I DID invest in a pair of maternity jeans I adore as well. They fit great, make my bum look AMAZING and I will happily wear them post partum. Trust me, you will LOVE these guys 🙂

Splurge on a nice pair. I’m 3 months postpartum and I had put my maternity jeans away in the garage but now need to go get them back out because my regular jeans still don’t even remotely fit me lol

snowflake8 : I actually tried on some from Motherhood, but none of them fit right. They were all too big. I did try them on about a month ago so I guess I could try again, but it’s really only my stomach that’s been growing. THe problem I had with the jeans I tried on there was that they were too baggy in the thighs and hips.
pickles325 : I’m leaning more toward that idea now. I probably won’t be wearing jeans postpartum, because it will be summertime and hot, but I do plan on having another baby at some point.

Try H&M! I was also a size 0 pre-pregnancy and was having the hardest time finding maternity jeans that weren’t baggy on me. I bought two pairs of the skinny jeans (they have jegging, bootcut, etc) and LOVE them! They fit so well and are very stretchy and comfy!

citysparkle : I really loved Pea in a Pod overall for pregnancy clothes. Good luck!

citysparkle : Do yu have a Mavi store where you live? They will alter any of their jeans to maternity for $20.

I second A Pea in the Pod. Their jeans frequently go on sale, and then you can get an extra 50% off the sale price. I have found a pair of Sevens and a pair of AGs for under $100; they may have been close to $50. If you wait for sales, you can find a really nice pair for not that expensive.

citysparkle : I’m in the UK so my suggestions will probably not be of any use but wanted to say I got some that are over the bump, which I find so comfortable, I’m going to get another pair.

Did you get to Destination Maternity today? I just got home from there with two pairs of AG maternity jeans. They are the only brand that fit me properly. I love their regular jeans so much. They had Paige denim as well at the Calgary location. SO EXPENSIVE though.
