Hey bees, I am 13 weeks pregnant and am beginning to show, and the khaki pants I’m required to wear at work are becoming very uncomfortable! I tried going up a size but the result there was pants that were loose but somehow still make my stomach feel compressed.
I went and tried on some maternity pants today, and oh my gosh…they looked like a total mess on me, They were super ill-fitting in the crotch and called a ton of attention to that area, then they’re super baggy everywhere else! This is a pretty typical problem for me with pants so I always get mine from the juniors department…but they don’t make maternity clothes in juniors sizing (which I suppose is a good thing, but not for me haha).
Anyone with a similar issue? Any advice on pants that worked really well for you ladies while expecting? Everyone recommends things like yoga pants but my dress code required khakis, so unfortunately they’re just not an option for me.

Where did you look? It honestly took trying on a lot of different brands to find the right fit. Target is always super baggy in the wrong spots on me. I found a couple of pairs at Motherhood that worked ok.

I work at Motherhood Maternity, and I sugest you try there. Our bottoms tend to work well with mostly everyone… If Old Navy fits you well, they sell maternity as well, but you’ll probably have to order online from them (not many stores carry it).

I was looking at Motherhood Maternity, tried on a few different styles but had the same issue with all of them. Guess I’ll just have to keep trying!

I didn’t have much luck at Motherhood for pants (lots of luck with tops though) but Macy’s had a bunch of styles that worked for me. Some of them were admittedly more expensive but they fit like a glove. They even had petites which was great for me. 🙂

Oh also I had a hard time with old navy as they have pretty slim cut thighs but it totally depends on your shape.

If your normal pants still fit in the hips/butt I highly recommend the Bella Band. They’re about $16 and really worked well for me through about six months when my hips spread out. They come in black, white, and nude. I bought mine from Amazon.com but I think they’re pretty widely available in stores. I still use it as a mini skirt under tunics and sweaters since it has a nice band on one end which is semi-sticky so it doesn’t ride up.

I got mine at Gap Maternity – two pairs, a grey and black. Love them!
