I got mine at motherhood…. just keep in mind when deciding between 1 piece and tankini…. you will have to pee more often than normal. Personally I’d hate to manuever a 1 piece off and on my pregnant body everytime I had to take a drip to the bathroom!

I found a great two piece maternity tankini at a consignment shop. Only $15 for a brand new suit vs. the crazy prices they have at full price. I couldn’t stomach them either.

@CindyRelly: That’s why you just pull the crotch part to the side when you go to the bathroom in a one piece. ๐ Much easier!

@MrsFairyBee: Not so easy at 7, 8 mos pregnant.. it gets harder to even wipe with the belly…let alone have to stoop/squat to pee while holding…. That would be asking for a hot mess! LOL!

@CindyRelly: Haha, that’s quite the mental image! Serves me right for giving my advice when I’ve never been pregnant. Sorry, and good luck to all you pregnant swimsuit loving women! I hope to be one of you someday! ๐

@MrsFairyBee: LOL I was just wondering if you’d ever been pregnant… while a good idea in theory.. pretty impossible once you get the “firm pregnant belly”.. ๐ But that’s something to keep in mind when you do have a little one should you be cursed with late pregnancy during the hot summer months… the simple things become quite the chore;)

@MrsFairyBee: I’m 36 weeks pregnant and I just got out of the pool. I bought a one piece this past weekend and I have no problems just moving the crotch to the side to pee. So I think you are on the right track there!
@BeccaBee83: I paid $15 for my one piece bathing suit at Motherhood. It was on the sales rack. I wanted a one-piece because I hate the feeling of elastic around my hips… which is what I would have got if I went with the tankini. But to each their own!

Just got a bathing suit top at Motherhood. Will I still be able to wear my regular suit bottoms with it, or will I need to get maternity bottoms too?

@kelly105: Haha! That’s exactly how I feel, too lately. It’s tough when you’ve got an ever-expanding belly; any elastic around the waist (even if it is below the belly) feels tight and too restricting. I want to be comfortable, but still feel good about myself so one piece it is for me!
I went ahead and bought the one-piece from figleaves.com and I’m waiting for it to arrive in the mail. I’ll let you all know how it fits once I get it! My search for a bathing suit may continue… we’ll see! I just loved the style and wanted to splurge a little. ๐
