Anyone have luck with this!
With my first I just wore an older one piece I already had that stretched fine… but of course after pregnancy it was ‘trash’.
I’m trying to find a one piece (not tankini) that will be ‘cute’ for a tropical vacation – but also something I can lap swim in. (Not strapless!)
I feeling like I’m just going to end up buying a regular suit a size or two bigger… but was hoping you guys might have suggestions! Thanks 🙂

I haven’t had any luck finding anything I like yet…I’m due in August and we’re going on a family beach vacation in late June. It doesn’t help that I’m not positive what exactly I’m looking for yet, or how big I’ll be.
I saw that Zulily.com is running a pretty good sale on Pez D’Or swimsuits right now, though. They have a couple one-pieces that I think could be cute for a tropical vacation.

@babycrz: I just bought a plus size one piece. It was the only way I could find something that I liked and that fit.

I’m not preggers, but I am top heavy and have a terrible time finding bathing suits.
This weekend I found a store (in Canada though…but I’m sure they exist everywhere) that makes custom bathing suits. My custom suit was cheaper and prettier than any bathing suit I’ve ever owned.
Could be an option if you want a bathing suit that fits like a glove.

I ordered my swimsuit from Target.com. I basically ordered one of each maternity suit I liked, in a couple sizes, and returned the ones that didn’t work to the store.

@Goldilocks1107: I didn’t even think about Target online. Did you find the suits measured true to size. Like if you were a medium pre-pregnancy – the medium size worked well? Just wondering! Thanks

I just bought one at Old Navy it isn’t adorable or anything but it is a pink tankini top and I got black bottoms. We are spending 6 weeks this summer in FL so I needed something even if it isn’t “cute”. They aren’t bad though just not my style. They also have a onepiece black suit.

What about just wearing a bikini? I’m 34 weeks right now and I think if I was going to the beach I would just wear my bikini……but maybe after I put it on I might not feel the same way! 🙂 I won’t actually have any opportunities for swimwear this pregnancy since I’m due May 1st.

@babycrz: They were pretty true to size – I think I ended up getting a size up to fit my bust (but I ordered the tankinis, maybe a one piece is different).

I used to work at a swimsuit store. What we recommended for pregant women- if they weren’t interested in maternity swimsuits- was to find a suit with a long torso (Longitude is one brand), or to look for suits with ruching on the sides. Last year, Ralph Lauren had a super cute swimdress that had ruching and extra mesh inside that allowed for a pretty good stretch.

I bought a swimsuit off Pea in the Pod. I ended up ordering my pre pregnancy size and it fit.

OMG SERIOUSLY YOU GUYS!? I can’t imagine wearing a swimsuit, more power to u!….I think i’m going to chicken out and just wear some yoga shorts or capris and a workout tank. I was a perfectionist about my body while not pregnant & probably won’t be excited to bare all while pregnant…I shuddered when I was this thread hehe 🙂
Like this kinda (found these on google):

@cvbee: If I had a bikini I liked I probably would just wear that! I’ll only be 6 months – so not too HUGE yet 🙂 Plus I don’t mind baring the belly – I love it! After baby #1 I gave in an bought a one-peice last summer that ‘hides’ all the flaws! But it’s way to snug to fit this belly in! I’ve tossed all the bikinis as they were older and worn out.

Can I just say a pregnant woman rocking a bikini looks awesome!! I just like it!
