You’re buying her dress and paying for her hair; that’s a gift!  Unless she’s flying out to be in your wedding, I would consider your job done (and perhaps give your friend who has helped you her gift in private).

@bella91182:  That’s a tricky one then.  Perhaps you can get her something not too costly, like a jewelry roll or a $25 gift certificate to Sephora or something?  Is your Fiance giving his Bridesmaid or Best Man a gift?

It sounds like there’s a little bit of extra tension between the two of you, maybe, and I’d be inclined to give her a token of appreciation to keep the peace.  At least a thank-you card.

Attendant gifts aren’t technically required, so it’s really up to you.

I feel like I’m commenting on myself.  I bought my MOH earrings and a bracelet. You bought her dress and her hairdo?  That’s a gift in itself.  I would top it off with “thanks for being here” type card and call it a day.

I vote no. My Maid/Matron of Honor didn’t do anything different than my bridesmaids so I didn’t get her a different gift or a more special gift.

I think buying the dress is enough!
