Ok here is the deal. I have a matron of honor and a maid of honor and I dont know how to dress them . The maid of honor wants a certain style dress and the matron of honor wants a one shoulder style dress. Both dresses are beautiful but with thoses 2 different style dresses and the bridesmaid style dress, its tooo many different styles and its clashing . My wedding party is not formal looking anymore. It looks more like a formal prom with eveybody wearing the same color, and I dont want that.
Do you guys think I should haver them wear the same style dress with like a different sash or something? Or maybe the same style dress with a different bouquet…Im so lost.
Help ladies!!!!!How would you dress your matron of honor and your maid of honor. I mean I want them both to love their dress and stand out from the rest of the party as well as each other. If you have pics of your maid of honor and matron of honor please post so I can get some ideas.

My girls are all wearing the same dress and carrying the same flowers.
If you don’t like how the dresses are looking together than maybe have them all wear the same dress so it all “goes together”

Aw! Go dress shopping with them and find a dress that looks great on both of them. That way your happy and they’re happy

Did you give them leave to pick their own dresses in the first place?
I was maid of honor as my sister’s wedding, and our sister-in-law was matron of honor. She and I have different body types and the styles that flattered her looked wrong on me, and vice versa. We settled on picking dresses both made of the same fabric (chiffon) but with a different cut. This way we ended up with flattering dress styles that worked well together because of the continuity of the fabric as well as the color. There were 2 other bridesmaids, and they wore matching dresses in the same color, also of chiffon, but a different style than mine and my sister-in-law’s dresses.
Sometimes it’s not having too many STYLES that causes the clashy feeling, it’s too many FABRICS. A red chiffon dress does not look like a red taffeta dress or a red silk shantung dress. Get your girls all in the same FABRIC and even with different styles, I bet it will line up a lot better.

Thanks ladies for your input. I really need to find what dress I want them to wear and I will take away all of your suggestions.

Are they about the same size?

My girls (4 in total) had same colour different dresses. Well 2 of the 4 girls wore one shoulder dresses and the other 2 wore halter style. They looked great without being too matchy matchy but they all coordinated nicely. If you want all girls dressed the same i like the idea of the different bouquets? Very sweet.

I also have a matron of honor and a maid of honor. All my girls are wearing different dresses that they each picked & it worked out that my maid & matron of honor are the only ones with flowers (the flower on the last dress is removable). I attached a pic of the dresses, they will be wearing a darker blue than pictured. They were supposed to be purple, but that’s another story. Although they are all wearing different dresses, I think they still compliment each other & everyone is happy. Hope this helps.

@BlissfulMrs: I did something similar. My girls (including my MOH) are all wearing different styles from each other that they picked out, but same color and fabric. 2 examples below

I made all 4 girls wear the same dress. We picked something that would look good on everyone, not an easy task. But I personally like the look of all the same and that is how I wanted it. If that is what is going to make you happy then do that. Or else pick a colour and fabric and let them each pick a style.

@AshleyR83: When I was in the 1st stages of wedding planning, that 2nd dress was one of my favorites!
