We just got a queen bed from Slumberland that was on sale for about $500. I think it’s firm but soft. I LOVE it. Then again, almost any mattress is nicer than the futon we’ve been sleeping on for the past four years! If you’re interested, I think it was a Simmons Beautyrest or something like that.

Just go to a mattress store and start trying them out! It’s kinda fun.

Oh, and I saw commercials for Macy’s Memorial Day weekend mattress sale, if you have a Macy’s in your area.

We have a queen Sealy version of the tempurpedic foam mattress. It is firm, but has softer foam pillowtop to it, so it’s pretty much the best of both worlds!

we got a firm matress and a memory foam topper! it is soft but hard all at the same time. Its the cheapest but best matress we have had.

we have bought the matresses with pillow tops but IMO they are the biggest waste because you cant flip it.

We got a bed with a pillowtop, which really helped with the softness but still has support.

How they do it here in Sweden is they double-up 2 single beds onto one frame. That way each person gets the bed s/her wants. I wasn’t completely used to it so we share a matress topper, it looks like 1 large bed, but we really have 2 beds and a large topper covering both so you can’t see a gap at all. I ended up buying my topper on Overstock.

It’s unusual to find large beds here (people always double them up) so it’s close to impossible to find large sheets for them. After searching forever for a decent king sized comforter and duvet cover, I just gave-up and did it the Swedish way and bought 2 smaller comforters.

I’ll never go back to sharing a blanket ever again! It’s great!

We have a Heavenly Bed from Westin Hotels.  It’s got great support and is very comfortable and soft.  You can buy them online.  It’s a little pricey (about $1,200) but for the length of time you keep a mattress (10-12 years), it’s worth the investment!

We have a sleep number bed, one of the ones with the pillow tops, and it IS THE BEST SLEEP EVER! I had heard some reviews about it being weird to cuddle, but we haven’t experienced that at all. I don’t feel him leaving for work and neither of us wake up in any kind of pain. The best thing, is my side is nice and soft, and his is hard as a rock 😉
