we’re going to hawaii too for our honeymoon. we’ll be flying into maui, stay a few days, then go to kauai for another few days and since you can’t fly out of kauai, we’ll be going to oahu for a day just to check out the shopping and then go home.

from what i’ve been told by the many people i know who’s been there, maui is absolutely gorgeous. lots of beautiful sights to see..just what you think paradise should be. kauai is even more laid back than maui. they say it’s definitely a honeymooners island. oahu (honolulu) is very city like. i think it’s well known for it’s shopping, but if you like city living, take a visit here too.

A quick post.  We are trying to decide where to have our destination wedding, Maui, Kauai, or the Big Island (so much to decide).

I grew up in Oahu for a while and love it.  Here are some suggestions of things to do: 1) climb Diamond Head (bring the camera); 2) visit the North Shore (huge waves in December) – Waimae Bay, Sunset Beach … – also great surf shops in this area; 3) take a surf lesson in Waikiki; 4) great hotels in Waikiki – Royal Hawaiin (they just finished a huge renovation – at least go for a drink – sit on the patio for a beautiful sunset); 5) take a trip on an Outrigger Canoe; 6) Pearl Harbor; 7) Shark’s cove for snorkeling or scuba.
