May…19th? We picked a Sunday because we thought it would help us to save money….but so far we haven’t saved anything over picking a Saturday! We’re actually going to have to pay extra to have hair/makeup work on Sunday. Wish I could change it to the 18th but we’ve already booked everything!

Thanks for making this post! May 18, 2013 is my date too. Indiana. We got engaged on June 30, 2011 in Paris (we live in the US and it was our first time to France). We are both graduate students and picked a date far enough in advance that would enable us to save up some money for the wedding. We picked our date based on two things: 1) the promise of additional discounts from the venue (since it’s before memorial day which marks the start of their high season) and 2) we live in a college town so all the students and graduation stuff will be over by then.

Another May 18th here! FH and I like to say May-teenth. Living in Phoenix, getting married in Michigan. Oh the joys of out-of-state planning.

Yay! I feel like planning a wedding in a city locale is so challenging because many of our guests will not have cars, and getting 200 people from the church to our reception site is going to be crazy!
